To Whom It May Concern,

This is to support the nomination of Ms. Grazia Scotellaro, educational designer at the School of Culture, History and Language, CAP for the Award in the area of contribution to students’ learning.

I was Grazia’s student at UC from 2007-2008 when I was doing my Graduate Diploma in Education. Grazia was my lecturer in LOTE and Information Technology and Education at the Faculty of Education.

As her student, I have greatly benefited from her rich knowledge and multiple skills in using modern technologies for teaching. Grazia has incorporated with approaches to her teaching that influence, motivate and inspire students to learn in both classroom and computer/lab settings. Her teaching often involves hands-on activities and discussions to engage students in critical thinking and interactive learning. She always tries to stimulate students’ interests and curiosity by using information technology to enhance students’ ability in using different tools for teaching.

Grazia always insures an updated development of curricula and resources that reflect a command of the field of study within the teaching environment. She consistently makes the teaching relevant to the students’ modern life by using different softwares such as Audacity, Quicktime Player, Learning Federation, Wiki-space, Hot potato, online quiz etc, all kinds of different programs or softwares to make teaching interesting and stimulating.

Grazia has strong approaches to assessment and feedback that foster independent learning. Her assessment for students involves all aspects of teaching experience and learning activities including written assignments and presentations by using multi-media. She also gives students prompt feedback after any assessment.

As her colleague at the School of Culture, History and Language, CAP, ANU from 2010, I find Grazia has continued to contribute her strong understanding and profound knowledge in using technology for teaching to her new workplace. She always strives to reach the highest standard in her teaching with dedication, enthusiasm and diligence. She has organised workshops to help teachers to get familiar with updated Wattle sites and new softwares before the new semester has started. She has also offered one-on-one support to staff in how to use online teaching facilities and how to design your course Wattle sites. All these scholarly activities Grazia organised have influenced and enhanced learning and teaching for students and teachers.

Grazia respects and supports for the development of teachers as individuals. She gives some teachers special attention when they need more help at her own spare time. With her help, the Wattle site for my course has become a better tool for my students with a more attractive design. With her help, my language teaching class has become more interesting and interactive by using modern technologies at the language lab.

Therefore, I strongly support Ms. Grazia Scotellaro for the Award in the area of contribution to students’ learning. Please feel free to contact me if you need further information.

Yours Sincerely,

Lihong Rambeau
